Welcome to the Intermediates: Rooms 5 & 6

The intermediate room is a gateway between speaking and writing. In their beginning years the children have an explosion of language. Our Teachers provide an expansion of language through the fundamentals of writing skills, beginning with such simple methods such as exercising their fine motor skills through manipulative play  (i.e play dough enabling them to develop the dexterity to hold a pencil and write their own name). They also learn the sounds of the alphabet well enough to start putting letters together forming their first reading words. The sense of pride the children get when they learn to write and read their name is priceless. It gives them so much more then just the ability to read. We also build poem books, art portfolios and incorporate numbers, fun with music & movement and cooking on a weekly basis.

Room 5: Teacher Rachelle loves to BOP til she drops and entertain our friends with a puppet show. Outside she explores all the wonders of nature because we're crazy about bugs!

Room 6: Teacher Michelle loves dancing with her class and making up new games to play! Outside she enjoys building sandcastles and looking for buried treasures with the kids.
